Phase 5 Lockdown means that alot of businesses in the village will temporarily close for 6 weeks as a result of following HSE and Government advice on COVID19 restrictions from midnight tonight. This 2nd closure will be a heart breaking decision for any business in Blackrock. Most businesses in Ireland are small, less than 5 people, running a business they have built up over year’s of hard work and sacrifice. Our local businesses see their customers as more than a source of revenue – they are our friends and our businesses treat them like family.

Once again we thank our Blackrock Community for your continued support in the coming 6 weeks and subsequent months – we are going to need it again.

We would encourage everyone to think about how they can support our local business and do some of the following :

• Order a takeaway or delivery (checkout the QKangaroo app)
• Buy a voucher
• Shop online
• Follow a Social Media Page
• Buy a coffee
• Keep in touch

Finally, our committee is working with Louth County Council on implementing some initiatives over the next 2 months as part of the Town and Village COVID19 support schemes. We will share more details as our plans progress.
