Joe Biden could be visiting Blackrock, Co. Louth

Joe Biden

Visit to long lost cousin Conor on the cards

There are rumours today that President Joe Biden could be paying a visit to Blackrock Village, Co. Louth in April 2023 as part of his historic visit to Ireland to mark the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday agreement. Local man Conor Hughes is a distant relative to Biden having only recently been informed as part of a security review. “I always knew him as “Uncle Joe” and he was a third cousin of my father Danny Hughes” says Conor. “He used to spend the odd summer here helping Dad to sell ice cream – Uncle Joe was some man at shifting the 99’s.” Conor recently received a security memo from the Secret Service to let him know he is on a shortlist for blood transfusions given both are a very rare blood type – just in case.

Conor says that he noticed a marked increase in visitors to the village wearing dark glasses, trench coats and talking up their sleeves. Conor hopes that the President Joe Biden will pay a visit to hisĀ BeatItMusic Shop during the brief stay in Louth where he is likely to visit his other cousins – The Finnegans on the Cooley Peninsula. “Uncle Joe is some man on a ukulele – there was many a night he would spin up a tune and we would sit round the fire at the house singing songs until the wee hours” said Conor. “I am hoping he will call in for a tune and maybe catch a pint in the Bayview Tavern or a quick Coffee in Rocksalt or The Village Garden. There’s plenty to See and Do here.” said Conor.

President “Uncle Joe” Biden is due to fly into Belfast on 11th April where he will be heading South to Dublin as part of his trip so will be passing through Louth at some stage. Maybe be will even take up some of the suggestions on this Itinerary Fit For A President from VisitLouth.
