Blackrock Tourism & Development Group have been organising Blackrock St. Patrick’s Day Parade for the last few years which has been growing from strength to strength. The event has become one of the most popular parades in the county and we have continued to work with Louth County Council and the Garda to ensure that the event is enjoyable, safe and compliant with the regulations from local authorities. This requires a good deal of documentation, forward planning, stewarding and financial costs to cover Insurance, Equipment, Promotion and Materials.
Besides the financial costs, there is no parade without floats and Community involvement. The parade is only as good as the quality of the participation and each year we have endeavored to make floats and assist groups where we usually have a theme and give prizes accordingly. We do not receive any grants for the parade and we try to cover costs from collections on the day but in recent years the costs have increased significantly.
This year we are calling on the support of the local community to support this the St Patricks Day Parade in Blackrock.
We need …
- Business Floats
- Community Floats
- Sports Club Floats
- Group Floats
- Individuals Floats
We need a commitment of a minimum of 20 Floats and a donation of €20 per float to go towards the costs of approx €1000.
We need your school, your football club, your pub , shop or your cafe to support our Blackrock St Patricks Day parade as we wouldnt like to have to cancel due to lack of funding or support.
