Stay Local – Shop Local

In light of the Governments decision to close schools, colleges etc to assist with infection control of Covid 19 virus we would like to remind everyone that Blackrock is still open for business. We want to remain open for business into the future so please help to support all our local businesses so we can work together to prevent  business activity from going into a slump. Our business owners and their staff are taking every safety directive onboard and applying them to their places of work at this time. They value your custom and support so please help them by staying local and shopping local and of course following the safety hygiene guidelines from the HSE (www.hse.ie)

Please make your decisions based on facts – dont base them on hear say, social media comments or false rumours about infections. Our local businesses rely on us and we need them to survive this outbreak intact to have a thriving village in the future. Here are some positive actions that we could all carry out at this time :-

• Wash your hands – before and after you shop
• Avoid close contact but continue to go out in your community
• Check in on a friend or neighbour before you shop – combine your orders
• Order online or over the phone – if you cant get out – let the businesses delivery to you
• Buy a voucher – businesses will need the revenue now and you can use the voucher at any time
• Tap for payments – avoid cash – tapping is cleaner
• Follow your local business on Social Platforms – they can update you directly with the facts
• Spend a little regularly – keep the businesses open daily

Remember -Blackrock is a strong vibrant community and has been through storms and floods a plenty. We have an amazing community spirit from young and old. Now is the time to pull together – stay local – shop local.
