THE CRAFTY ROCK
The Crafty Rock was created in 2017 by two crafters, Rita Alves and Brenda Leary. Both already ran their own businesses, Rita runs Craft Okapi and Brenda Scrumbly Creations. Having both toured the craft market circuit a chance remark led us on the path to forming The Crafty Rock. As we see it the shop shall provide a space where crafters and artists can showcase and display their work, provide a centre in the village of Blackrock where like-minded people can meet, socialize and learn new crafts, supply good quality yarns and craft supplies for sale
and be an interesting shop which visitors to the village will enjoy and be able to purchase locally made items.
Open 7 days a week , the shop is mostly manned by the craftspeople whose work is on display. Opening hours are 10am - 5pm, extending until 6pm during July and August.
We at the makers have a shared love and appreciation of locally crafted products. We felt the need to have a place which allows people to see, feel, touch and appreciate the fantastic products made locally. This beautifully curated shop is run by knowledgeable makers with a keen interest in sharing their passion.
