Blackrock Pumpkin Festival 2019

Ghosts and witches came out to the village on 27th Oct 2019 for the annual “Blackrock Pumpkin Festival” organised by the Blackrock Tourism and Development Group and supported by Louth County Council. This family friendly event attracted over 500 people to the village to place their carved pumpkins around the sundial and along the sea wall in spooky Halloween display. “Trish and her Witches” then put on a spell casting display in the lower carpark to banish the spooky ghosts and monsters which had descended onto the big screen for the night. Finally, the monster drummer and witches led the village along the main street for the zombie “Blackwalk” down to the seafront a skeleton piano player played and spooky sweets were handed out.

Well done to everyone who entered the pumpkin carving competition and the three winners for best pumpkin display collected their cinema passes on the night. A big thank you to all our committee and volunteers who worked to make sure this event was safe and family friendly event which drew alot of people into the village over the course of the day.

LOST AND FOUND – There was a phone handed into the committee if anyone lost one last night so contact Aine in Sybil Boutique on the main street.

Thanks again and see for you more spooky fun next year …
