We are planning to have the biggest and best StPatrick’s Day parade ever this Saturday 17th 2018 and the details of the event are as follows for participants and attendees.
The parade will start from Cocklehill, Blackrock at 1:30pm sharp and will proceed through the village past the judges stand and up Sandy Lane. This should take approx 45 mins with everything being done and dusted by 2:30pm just in time for the Big Six Nations Rugby Match at 2:45pm.
If you are registered to take part in the parade then we will allocate you a number on the evening Friday 16th March 2018. Please arrive no later than 1:15pm and it will be a cold but dry day so we dont want anyone standing around any longer than they have to. Make sure that you have a banner showing who you are so our judges can put you in consideration for a prize. One member of your group is asked to return to the judges stage for the prize giving at 2:30pm.
The parade will proceed from St Furseys, Cocklehill down along the coast road, up main street, turning left at Sandy Lane and dispersing at the Community Centre. There will be traffic management via stewards in high vis vests along and the route and there will be road closures during the parade. Traffic coming into the village after 1:30pm will be diverted up the Rock Road and along the Seafield Road during the parade. Stewards will also be diverting traffic at estate entrances along the route. So leave the car at home and walk/cycle into the village if you can.
We will have a team of stewards in orange high vis vests who are all volunteers so please co-operate and assist them if you can. They may also be holding a Blackrock Tourism bucket so a donation to cover the costs of the day would be appreciated!
The theme of this years parade is “Coastal Carnival” so we want everyone to have as much fun as possible. So whether you are in the parade or cheering us on be sure to tell your friends to come along, dress up and have fun!
Just drop us a line via firstname.lastname@example.org and we will come back to you.
