Phase 2 Reopening

Blackrock residents and retailers are looking forward to Monday 8th June 2020 as Phase 2 of the COVID19 Reopening Plan approaches. Many small retailers in the village will be able to fully reopen their doors for business subject to social distancing rules. “It has been a long 3 months for our retailers – this is the first time many of them will have an opportunity to get back to work and to start generating much needed revenue.” said Blackrock Tourism and Development Chairperson Aine Corcoran. “We have been in keeping in touch with our business members regularly for their status updates and sending them useful links to Government supports but now is the time for our local village to support them directly”.

The Phase 2 lifting of restrictions covers :-

  • 5km to 20km travel
  • Short home visits in small groups
  • Childcare for essential healthcare workers
  • Small retail outlets with control of numbers
  • Small group team sports training
  • Public an Private transport to resume with restricted numbers

The Blackrock Tourism and Development Group would  like to encourage everyone in the village to support our local businesses and to shop local where possible. These small businesses are the lifeblood of the village and a spend now will make the difference between survival in 2020 or not. Its time for all us to #staylocal, #spendlocal, #eatlocal and #shoplocal.
