With just over 3 weeks to go the Blackrock Film Festival 2018 was launched today. The festival takes place from Wednesday 22nd Aug to Sunday 26th Aug 2018 in the seaside village in Co. Louth. There will be 6 movies shown in various venues as well as a Cinema-On-The-Sand beach spectacular on Friday 24th August where the “Greatest Showman” movie will be shown as an outdoor movie on the beach.

Speaking at todays offical launch Chairperson Aine Corcoran said “Its fantastic to see the local businesses get into the spirit of Irelands quirkiest film festival and we hope to make this a fun festival for tourists and locals alike”. The films will be shown in the AOH Hall, Cafe Rocksalt, Uncle Toms Cabin, Blackrock Beach, The Clermont Arms and The Neptune Bar throughout the week and the full schedule is available on www.visitblackrock.ie.

All events are free and open to the public with the exception of the “Opening Night Spectacular” in the AOH Hall, Blackrock showing the “Quite Man” film with a reception and special guests. Limited tickets are available online via the website – www.visitblackrock.ie/shop
