The Blackrock Pumpkin Carnival held on Bank Holiday Monday 31/10/17 was the second year of this event.  Although still in its infancy the carnival grew from last years attendance of 500 to this years 1300 attendees.Parents , kids & young adult Halloween fans made up the visitors & participants. This event was a free event and was supported by Fyffes who supplied the fantastic Pumpkins used to decorate the Promenade Wall and The Pier rocks.  Total Produce whom funded traditional drinks & fare in the Halloween Tent supplied by David Norton Photography.   Thanks to all those people came in fancy dress and  thanks alos to our facepainters Melissa Mackin, Chrisina Neary and Maureen Hoey. The event culminated in the first ever Black Walk led by the Creepy Clown & Bone collector Duo to the enticing haunting sound tracks of a dark and spooky night . The children dutifully followed with parents off course and they marched past the Projected Holograms on the streets houses to the beach at the pier end of the promenade . To everyone’s surprise the beach was transformed into a haunted graveyard & to the delight of all the kids the Graves opened up to unfold sweets & treats for all. The atmosphere was alive with excitement and Colm Grogan from Blackrock Music School played jaunty horror notes on the piano on the beach .
